PhD Programme Committee

The PhD Programme Committee is the governing body responsible for the academic quality, strategic direction, and educational framework of the PhD Programme. It ensures that every candidate receives high-level training and rigorous research supervision.

Core Responsibilities

The Committee manages the lifecycle of the PhD journey through the following pillars:

1. Academic Governance & Curriculum

  • Study Manifesto: Defines the educational activities, curricula, and annual schedules.
  • Admissions: Approves new member intake and proposes the selection and final examination committees to the Rector.
  • Internationalization: Fosters strategic partnerships with global universities and public/private entities to enhance research opportunities.

2. Student Supervision & Progress

  • Mentorship: Assigns a supervisor and co-supervisor(s) to every doctoral student.
  • Monitoring: Evaluates annual research progress to ensure the mastery of scientific methodologies.
Evaluation: Reviews intermediate work and decides on admission to subsequent academic years or the final thesis defense.

3. Mobility & Research Extensions

  • External Research: Authorizes research periods abroad or internships (exceeding six months) at prestigious public or private institutions.
  • Collaborative Degrees: Approves and oversees thesis co-supervision (cotutelle) programs.
  • Supplementary Activities: Validates extracurricular teaching, integrated research, and specialized training programs.

Quality Assurance

The Committee is also responsible for approving the Coordinator’s Annual Report, ensuring the Programme meets the highest institutional standards and continuously evolves to meet the needs of the international scientific community.
