Passing of Prof. Teodoro Valente, President of the Italian Space Agency

The National PhD Program in Space Science and Technology (PhD-SST) expresses its deepest condolences on the untimely passing of Professor Teodoro Valente, President of the Italian Space Agency (ASI).

Full Professor of Materials Science and Technology at Sapienza University of Rome and a prominent figure in the national and international scientific and academic landscape, Prof. Valente led ASI from 2023, breathing new energy, vision, and extraordinary dedication into the national space sector.

Throughout his presidency and his entire scientific and managerial career, he consistently demonstrated immense faith in and commitment to young generations of researchers, fostering education, scientific excellence, and the strengthening of synergies between academia, research institutions, and the aerospace industry.

The Coordinator, the PhD Programme Committee, the staff, and all the doctoral candidates of the PhD-SST warmly join in expressing their grief to his family and to the entire Italian Space Agency community.
