Mandatory health and safety training is required for all enrolled PhD students to ensure a secure research environment.
Training Responsibilities
Training procedures depend on your assigned operational site:
- Outside of Trento: Each operational site is responsible for its own training. Please follow the specific internal rules and procedures of your host institution;
- University of Trento (UniTrento): if your operational site is Trento, you must complete the training as outlined below.
UNITN Training Structure
All PhD students at UniTrento are automatically enrolled in the required courses. If you cannot access them, please contact: uff.didatticaonline@unitn.it.
- General Course:
- Format: 4-hour self-paced online course (Forge);
- Requirement: mandatory for all students.
- Specific Risk Courses:
- Low Risk (Theoretical): 5-hour self-paced online course (Forbas). Valid for 5 years;
- Medium Risk (Experimental): 8-hour in-person course (In-Lab Safety). Please check the Moodle dedicated website for upcoming sessions.
Note on Equivalency: If you already hold a comparable medium-risk safety certificate, you may submit it for evaluation via this link for formal recognition.
Documentation & Risk Assessment
In collaboration with your supervisor, you are required to complete and return the following documents (sent via email or downloadable below):
- Risk Identification Form;
- Personal Protective Equipment (DPI) Form.
Health Surveillance
If your research activities require health surveillance, the hosting University/Institution is responsible for conducting the medical examination to assess fitness for specific tasks, unless otherwise specified in agreements between affiliated institutions.
